1. Shreyans K. Jain

PhD (09/2015)

Shreyans is from Rajasthan. He joined CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu in 2011 and completed PhD in natural products chemistry under the joint supervision of Dr Ram A. Vishwakarma and Dr Sandip B. Bharate. In Ph.D. dissertation (2011-2015), he worked on the isolation, synthetic modifications and biological evaluation of compounds of Dysoxylum binectariferum, Bergenia ciliata and Mallotus philippensis. From 2016-2018, he did postdoc at Georgetown University, USA. Since 2019, he is working as an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology at IIT-BHU Varanasi.

2. Ramesh Mudududdla

PhD (02/2016)

Ramesh is from Talangana. He joined Bharate Research Group in May 2011 as a Ph.D. scholar (CSIR-JRF) in the Medicinal Chemistry Division, CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu. In Ph.D. dissertation (2011-2015), he worked on the development of new metal-free protocols for the synthesis of medicinally important scaffolds and the screening of molecular libraries for potential bioactivities. After Ph.D., Ramesh worked as a research officer in Ind-Swift Mohali (2015-2016), followed by a postdoc at Academia Sinica Taiwan (2016-2018). Since March 2018, he is a postdoctoral research fellow at Monash University, Australia.

3. Shabber Mohammed

4. Baljinder Singh

PhD (05/2016)

Shabber is from Telangana. He joined CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu in 2011 and completed PhD in medicinal chemistry under the joint supervision of Dr Ram A. Vishwakarma and Dr. Sandip B. Bharate. In Ph.D. dissertation (2011-2016), he worked on the design and synthesis of fused pyrimidines as isoform-selective PI3K-α inhibitors and development of new synthetic methodologies for carbon-heteroatom bond formation. After completing PhD, he worked as research scientist at Piramal Healthcare Ahmedabad and GVK Biosciences Hyderabad (2015-2016). In 2017, he moved to US, where he worked at Emory University School of Medicine and University of Pittsburgh. Since Feb 2021, he is working as a postdoctoral research associate at Ohio State University USA.

Baljinder Singh is from Haryana. He joined CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu in 2011 and completed PhD in natural products chemistry under the joint supervision of Dr Ram A. Vishwakarma and Dr. Sandip B. Bharate. In Ph.D. dissertation (2011-2015), he worked on the isolation, synthetic modifications, and biological evaluation of natural products. He did postdoctoral research (2015-2021) at Northeastern University and since 2021, he is working as a senior scientist at AstraZeneca Boston.

5. Rammohan
R. Yadav

PhD (06/2016)

Rammohan is from Talangana. He joined Bharate Research Group in 2011 as a Ph.D. scholar (CSIR-JRF) at the Medicinal Chemistry Division, CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu. In Ph.D. dissertation (2011-2016), he worked on the medicinal chemistry of indole and quinazoline class of marine natural products to explore their biological potential. After Ph.D., he worked as an associate scientist at GVK Biosciences during 2015-2017; after which he did a postdoc at Southwest University P.R. China (2017-2019) and Montclair State University USA (2019-2020). Since 2021, he is a Team Lead at Sai Life Sciences Hyderabad.

6. Sudhakar Manda

PhD (06/2016)

Sudhakar is from Talangana. He joined Bharate Research Group in 2011 as a Ph.D. scholar (CSIR-JRF) at the Medicinal Chemistry Division, CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu. In Ph.D. dissertation (2011-2016), he worked on the medicinal chemistry of indole alkaloids and alkylidene phosphonates to explore their biological potential. After Ph.D., he worked as a senior research associate at DRILS Hyderabad (2016-2018), and then as a postdoctoral associate at Seoul National University (2018-2020). Since December 2020, he is working at Aurigene Bangalore and currently he is a ‘Senior Scientist 1’ at Aurigene Oncology.

7. Rajni Sharma

PhD (06/2017)

Rajni is from Jammu & Kashmir. She joined CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu in 2011 and completed PhD in natural products chemistry under the joint supervision of Dr Ram A. Vishwakarma and Dr. Sandip B. Bharate. In Ph.D. dissertation (2011-2017), she worked on the isolation of secondary metabolites from two medicinal plants Glycyrrhiza glabra and Pongamia pinnata. After completing PhD, she worked as a research associate at DIHAR DRDO Chandigarh (2019-2021).

8. Rohit Sharma

PhD (11/2017)

Rohit is from Himachal Pradesh. He joined Bharate Research Group in December 2011 at the Medicinal Chemistry Division, CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu and completed PhD in November 2017. In Ph.D. dissertation (2012-2017), he worked on the development of oxidative reactions for C-C and C-N bond formation involving aliphatic amines and amides. After completing PhD, he worked as NPDF at NIPER Mohali and then as IRC postdoctoral research fellow at University College Cork Ireland. Since May 2019, he is working as an assistant professor at Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Himachal Pradesh.

9. Prashant Joshi

PhD (10/2018)

Prashant is from Madhya Pradesh. He joined Bharate Research Group in December 2012 at the Medicinal Chemistry Division, CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu and completed PhD in October 2018. In Ph.D. dissertation (2012-2018), he worked on the identification of natural P-gp modulators to overcome the problem of chemo-resistance in cancer and infectious diseases. After completing PhD, he has been working in academics and is currently holding a position of associate professor at MIT WPS university, Pune.

10. Abubakar Wani

PhD (07/2019)

Abubakar is from Kashmir. He joined CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu in 2012 and completed PhD in life sciences under the joint supervision of Dr Ajay Kumar and Dr. Sandip B. Bharate. In Ph.D. dissertation (2014-2019), he worked on the mechanistic investigation of natural products for the clearance of amyloid-beta via autophagy/ ABC transporters. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, USA.

11. Mohd Abdullaha

PhD (02/2021)

Mohd Abdullaha is from Jammu & Kashmir. He joined CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu in 2017 and completed PhD in medicinal chemistry under the joint supervision of Dr Ram A. Vishwakarma and Dr. Sandip B. Bharate. In Ph.D. dissertation (2017-2021), he worked on the medicinal chemistry of small molecules for Alzheimer’s disease. Since February 2022, he is a postdoctoral research fellow at Baylor College of Medicine USA.

12. Rinky
Raghuvanshi

Rinky is from Haryana. She joined Bharate Research Group in March 2019 as a Ph.D. scholar (CSIR-UGC JRF) at the Medicinal Chemistry Division, CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu. In Ph.D. dissertation (2019-2022), she worked on developing new multitargeted preclinical leads for Alzheimer’s disease employing library screening and rational drug design approaches. Since February 2023, she is pursuing postdoctoral research in Dykhuizen lab @ Purdue University USA

13. Vijay K. Nuthakki

PhD (11/2022)

Vijay is from Andhra Pradesh. He joined Bharate Research Group in November 2016 at the Medicinal Chemistry Division, CSIR- Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu, and completed PhD in November 2022. In Ph.D. dissertation (2019-2022), he worked on the discovery of natural product-based multi-targeted anti-Alzheimer agents. Since December 2022, he is pursuing postdoctoral research in Dr. Journigan's lab at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.

14. Ankita Sharma

PhD (10/2023)

Ankita is from Himachal Pradesh. She joined Bharate Research Group in November 2017 as a project fellow and later registered for Ph.D. in January 2020 (10CC20J37034) at AcSIR. Before joining IIIM, she earned her master's degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from Punjab technical university in 2012. In her Ph.D., she worked on the exploration of the coumarin scaffold to discover the multi-targeted ligands for Alzheimer's disease. On 26th Oct 2023, she defended her PhD thesis.

15. Deendyal Bhurta

PhD (11/2023)

Deendyal is from Haryana. He joined Bharate Research Group in November 2017 as a project fellow and later registered for Ph.D. in January 2020 (10CC20J37036) at AcSIR. Before joining IIIM, he earned a master of pharmacy degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from Rajendra College of Pharmacy, Haryana. In Ph.D., he worked on the design, synthesis, and pharmacological evaluation of chromone-based CDK inhibitors as anticancer agents. On 7th Nov 2023, he defended PhD thesis.

16. Mohit Sharma

PhD (01/2024)​

Mohit is from Himachal Pradesh. He joined the group in May 2017 as a project fellow and later registered for a PhD (10CC19A37039) at AcSIR. Before joining the group, he earned a Master of Pharmacy degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from Panjab University. His Ph.D. dissertation involves the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ligands to combat multifaceted Alzheimer’s disease. On 16th January 2024, he successfully defended his PhD thesis.

Razia is from Kargil, Ladakh. She earned a M.Sc. degree in Organic chemistry from Jammu University in 2018. In August 2019 (10CC19A37042) she joined the group as a UGC-JRF to pursue Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry. Her Ph.D. dissertation involves the rational drug design, virtual screening, synthesis, and lead optimization to discover new dual cholinesterase/tau kinase inhibitors. On 26th March 2024, she successfully defended her PhD thesis.

18. Chilakala Nagarjuna Reddy

Nagarjuna is from Andhra Pradesh. He earned a M.Pharm. degree in Pharmaceutical chemistry from Hindu College of Pharmacy in 2015. In February 2021, he joined the group as a project associate I and subsequently enrolled into the AcSIR Ph.D. program  in August 2021 (10CC21A37006). His Ph.D. dissertation involved the medicinal chemistry of selected heterocyclic scaffolds to discover kinase inhibitors as potential anticancer agents. On 30th August 2024, he submitted PhD thesis.
